The Seller Dynamics team ended February with a brilliant team night out at the Xtreme Karting race track in Falkirk. After a successful month where we doubled our client base, hurtling around a track in a Grand Prix style tournament race was a great way to blow off some steam.

Fraser, known better as The Stig

Fraser, known better as The Stig

There was an early hint of March Madness during the proceedings which involved crashes, drifting, out of control spins, and a competitive edge that saw everybody putting the pedal to the metal in order to get one over their colleagues. The battle was heated but all in good spirit and fortunately the only damage done was to the bruised egos of those who scored the lowest points and ended up racing to decide who would be the “best loser”.

A quick practice run was followed by four full blooded, high-tempo races where everyone was given a chance to race twice and put some points on the leader board. Fraser (x2), Dave, and Paul G took the honours of winning the four races before the group was split in two. Those who drove like Steve McQueen competed for a podium place; those who drove like Mr Bean were given the opportunity for a “special” race to compete for the “best of the worst” title.

The grand final saw Fraser drink from the keg of glory, leading from the front and winning by a whopping 14 seconds. Clearly developing Seller Dynamics is only a pastime compared to his true calling of motor racing! In a heated and intense for silver and bronze, Dave held off a strong challenge from Steve and secured second place although the highlight of the race for the spectators was watching Tristan smash Kris’ kart into a crash barrier – a manoeuvre believed to have been inspired by Bowser in MarioKart.

For the rest of us who didn’t win, go-karting and team spirit was the real winner of the night (or so we told ourselves as cursed into our helmets during the races) and judging by the reception and chatter in our office today, it would be a very popular choice for our next work night out! On behalf of everyone, many thanks to Alex and Fraser for treating us to such a great night out here’s hoping the month ahead will be as successful as Fraser behind the wheel of a go kart!
